About 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD
The previously optional 4.10 rear axle ratio is now standard on gas models, enabling 4,500-pound greater standard trailering capability of up to 13,000 pounds, for both 2500HD and 3500HD. It also enhances acceleration and can enable greater efficiency in stop-and-go driving and at speeds below 50 mph.
The 2014 Silverado HD lineup is offered in WT, LT and LTZ models, in 2WD and 4WD, including single- and dual-rear-wheel 3500HD models. All feature fully-boxed, high-strength-steel frames and offer an array of control features that make hauling and towing easier, including trailer sway control, integrated trailer brake control, hill start assist, automatic grade braking, intelligent brake assist and larger brakes.
A 360-horsepower, 6.0L gas V-8 is standard on 2500HD and 3500HD models, with the Duramax 6.6L turbo-diesel available (rated at 397 hp).
New for 2014 is a bi-fuel compressed natural gas fuel system and bi-fuel-compatible version of the 6.0L V-8 engine for 2500HD crew cab models. Also new is an available spray-in bed liner, which bonds to the steel bed to create permanent, water-tight protection for the bed.
Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD models are distinguished by a power dome-style hood with a louvered design, as well as a wide grille with chrome surround and full-width chrome steel front bumper. A lineup of 17- (Dually), 18- and 20-inch wheel/tire combinations is offered.
